Welsh Compulsory Plastic Bag Charge

Welsh Government says a charge is the only way to reduce plastic bag use further and encourage reuse

The Welsh Assembly Government has said it wants to bring in a compulsory charge on all plastic bags given out to shoppers.

A fee in Ireland has helped reduce the single-use bag by 90% and Wales’ Environment Minister, Jane Davidson, thinks this could be a good example for Wales to follow. More details can be found on the Guardian’s website.
